"Sad and dramatic, but not pessimistic"

That's how nuevo tango master Astor Piazzolla, who died on today's date in 1992, described the Argentinian music he took to new heights. Here is an excerpt from one of his most transfixing pieces, the tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires.
