Artistic license

At booooooom.com, a fascinating art-related project called "Remake" is in progress in which entrants stage tableaux vivant versions of iconic photographs and paintings. (Apparently, Adobe sponsored the project in the UK and they are partnering with booooooom here.) The images can be uncannily similar or intentionally altered (as in the statement made by having a nude male and clothed woman in a recreation of "Le dejeuner sur l'herbe"). The site's worth keeping tabs on just to marvel at people's ingenuity and interests (Frida Kahlo is a big favorite). Here are a few samples.

Above, Marianna Oboeva remakes “Portrait of the Actress Jeanne Samary” by Renoir; below, Justin Nunnink stages “The Ship” by Salvador Dali and Bastian Vice recreates Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks."

Can you picture yourself in a picture? And what would it be?
