Roald Dahl

Britain's Royal Mail is celebrating Roald Dahl. Yay!

We have his autobiographical More About Boy: Roald Dahl's Tales from Childhood (illustrated by the great Quentin Blake) as well as The Irregulars: Roald Dahl and the British Spy Ring in Wartime Washington. Do you have a favorite Dahl picture book? (His adult novels and ghost story collections are also tops.)

  1. As a child, I think I wore out 3 copies of "James and the Giant Peach." My favorite, however, is "Revolting Rhymes." Happy Dahl-Day!!

  2. The Witches was one of my favorite books growing up, but I remember having horrible nightmares from the movie adaptation! I loved the movie version of Matilda, but didn't read the book until much later. I still loved it, even as an adult. Another favorite growing up with The BFG. I wanted to live in the caravan the main character finds.

  3. Happy Roald Dahl Day!! I swear as a child I must have read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at least 10 times. And whenever the movie came on tv I watched that too, even as an adult. I dreamed over being a part of the story and being able to experience all those cool things!!!
