The fictional Crawley girls: Jessica Brown-Findlay, Laura Carmichael, and Michelle Dockery.
The adorable scullery maid, Daisy, is played by Sophia McShera.
The scheming ladies' maid O'Brien is the lovely Siobhan Finneran. Are you gobsmacked? Guess they didn't want her to upstage Lady G. I hope they fix her up a bit next season—she looks to me like a refugee from a Balzac novel.
Laura Carmichael could show Lady Edith a thing or two about how to get her man!

You are spot on with O'brien! It's amazing how different actresses and actors look in real life versus how we see them on TV or the big screen.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Really neat to see these. Anyone else reminded of seeing your 3rd grade teacher outside of school?! Kinda blows your mind:)
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteMaggie Smith should trademark her character (cf Gosford Park & Harry P). I adore her. I always watch her old stuff on TCM.
Still haven't watched a single episode, but the actress who plays maid O'Brien, WOW, what a transformation!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting these. It is amazing to see the sometimes subtle difference in facial expression between the character & the person.
ReplyDeleteHollywood definitely has some talented make up and hair stylist because the transformations are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteActually it's the very well-funded BBC whom we can thank for the beautiful clothes etc. Although British designers win a LOT of costume awards at the Oscars.
