Calling all couch potatoes!

The Nano Workout site has scads of mini routines you can integrate into your day. They've got you covered for every room in the house, as well as for the office and even public transportation. We all know the secret for health, happiness, longevity—and lower medical bills—is to get up and move, and this system seems to me a relatively painless way to start. So let's get in the conga line with Michelle Obama and move our booties (or whatever).
Alternatively, Secrets of Rejuvenation: Gateways to Health: Zen Warrior Exercises may be just the thing for the esoteric-minded, while our shelf of books on healthy eating and lifestyles should reward even the most discriminating palate.

"The physical and emotional health of an entire generation and the economic health and security of our nation is at stake."—First Lady Michelle Obama at the Let’s Move! launch, February 2010

  1. When I was doing yoga every day, it was the best I ever felt. It wasn't even intense yoga; sometimes all I had time for was a few run-throughs of the Sun Salutation in the morning. Still, stretching and limbering up your body gets you ready for the day in a way coffee can never do. That doesn't mean I don't need my coffee too, though. ;)

  2. This looks WAY more convenient than reading while walking/running!! Never quite works the way you want it to... However, I feel guilty now in my computer chair:(

  3. The chair crunches actually look a little tough! I think I might fall over easily with that one. Good, simple exercises though.

  4. I work a rather stationary job, the most exercise I get is going back and forth to the water cooler each day, so these nano exercises could really come in handy.

  5. I should implement this into my daily routine, keep the blood moving while at my desk!!

  6. People always look at me weird when I do stretches in elevators and such. I can't figure out why no one else gets stiff! We're made to walk around, flop around, whatever. Thanks for the yoga plug; I meant to ask what other people do to stretch and flex.
