Catching up on video hits: cat with existential angst and dancin' in the streets

This video of the cat Henri, suffused with ennui, won best of show at the Walker Art Center's  Internet Cat Video Festival in Minneapolis, beating out even "Keyboard Cat." (A French accent gets them every time.) The museum received 10,000 submissions from a casting call, ending up with a hour's worth of feline antics for the attendees' viewing pleasure.
The goofy and joyful video below has deservedly gone viral, with copycats in Copenhagen, London, Australia, and Vancouver.
 Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

    1. it's genius, eh? Apparently the guy who made it now makes $1,000 a week on Henri-related merchandise. Are we in the wrong business??

  3. We MUST be in the wrong business!! It's certainly hilarious, though:) That's up there with "Honey Badger." Also funny but not for the kiddies...

  4. Hilarious. I love cats. We have a cat (Hermione) that is a lot like Henri...and a cat (Felix) who is a lot more like the cat flopping around on the chair trying to earn a cheeseburger. $1,000 a week on Henri merch? I bet the creator needs a partner...

  5. Mais c'est vrai..c'est tellement vrai! It is the sad lot of every feline to have slow-witted and dense staff, to live misunderstood, to long for the proper appreciation due us! One day, I shall go away...one day, I shall live as my noble ancestors did, free and without owners and their hideous call, "Heeere Kitty, Kitty!"...one day...but I feel a nap coming on. Tomorrow will be soon enough!

  7. Have loved Henri since I first saw him...what a hoot. Existentially speaking, of course.

  8. From the country that gave us "L'etre et le neant" and "Waiting for Godot"--Henri's philosophy of life is coming soon, I hear.
