Joyous, peaceful holidays!

Here are two graphics for all of you vintage typography buffs. The image at left is from the book Snowflakes: a chapter from the Book of Nature (1863), which is housed at the Internet Archive.

  1. Love these! I normally hate gothic fonts, but I quite like the snowflake one.

Anyone who likes typography needs to read Just My Type by Simon Garfield. A history of type may sound boring, but Garfield's book is incredibly entertaining. I, for one, never knew that the creator of Gill Sans (Gill was his name) was disturbingly deviant in his sexual desires!
