The Daily Glean caption contest goes biweekly

Back by popular demand! It's the Daedalus Books/Daily Glean Caption Contest ... now coming to you every other week. Let's get those synapses firing and show the world our funnybones! Here's the skinny.

Daedalus Books/Daily Glean Caption Contest Protocol
  • A new image will be posted each Friday on the blog and at the upper right column of  The Daily Glean
  • Entries should be e-mailed by 8 pm the following Wednesday (including your full name, address, and e-mail) to artsjunkie@aol.com.
  • Our staff will then choose the top 3 entries, which will be placed at the top right of the blog Friday for readers to vote on during the next week.
  • The winner will announced in that Friday's blog (and the winning caption will be self-evident in the final poll results).
  • Prize = $5 off gift coupon for use on our website (salebooks.com).
  • No Daedalus Books staff shall enter, upon pain of banishment to the Isle of Silverfish, where lurks the dreaded race of Dogearers.

 Let the quips begin!

  1. I was beginning to get worried...glad to see you're back!
I thought the Isle of Silverfish was located behind my living-room wall. I will henceforth revoke their residency papers and send them home tout suite!

    1. I am able to access your site through Twitter, but when I go through Favorites, or through Yahoo Search, I get "no site configured at this address."
Am I the only one having this problem? Excuse me, sir or madam, but can you tell me how you came by here?

  2. Shouldn't the word be "bi-weekly" instead of "bi-monthly" ?
When I get a bimonthly magazine, It is published every two months.

  3. My dictionary permits either definition, favoring the interpretation of bi-monthly as once every 2 months.
Now that you're here, Gerry, I hope you will enter the semimonthly (for purists) contest! Give it your best shot!
