Black Friday? Ho hum. Check our everyday bargains!

Every day is like Black Friday on the Daedalus Books website (salebooks.com). People can sign up online to receive catalogs or e-mail notices of special sales as well. Right now through Wednesday there's an extra 10% off everything ordered on the website. If you check it out soon you can see the animated version of the graphic below!
I've been perusing the Gifts 2013 catalog, and there's are way too many doozies to share with you in one post, so I'm going to single out a few that I covet and bring you highlights in the next few days.
Because one can never have too much of Edward Gorey, I seized upon a book he illustrated reissued by New York Review of Books Press: Rhonda Levine's Three Ladies Beside the Sea. And because I love NYRB's editions, I'd pair it with Alastair Reid's Supposing, illustrated by Bob Gill.
Coming up in the next post: some ultra-fabulous gift books—and well-deserved presents for yourself!

  1. Of course my cat can read--it's pronouncing the words that would give him paws! ;-)
