Valentine's Day edition, part 2

People on the East Coast of the U.S. may have gotten gypped out of their Valentine's plans by the snow (although staying home and playing "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" seems a cozy alternative). In case you'd like to send a valentine via e-mail, here is an assortment of vintage ones. Enjoy ... especially the fruity ones! The first one up is an example of the once-popular style of "vinegar" valentine. We bookworms are not amused!
This last one is just begging for a caption! Here's a fun ménage à trois: Carson McCullers kissing Marilyn Monroe while Isak Dinesen observes, 1959. The latter was the pen name of Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke (née Karen Christenze Dinesen), which is recounted in Nom de Plume: A (Secret) History of Pseudonyms.

  1. Well, if it's begging for a caption, let's give it one:
"Ah honey, you're so peacefully sleeping, dare I ask, my sweet, just one question? Do you microwave or oven bake the pizza rolls?"
